On July 5th, the world’s wealthiest individual, Elon Musk, declared the formation of a new political entity: the America Party. His stated goal? To restore freedom to the American people. He hit the nail on the head when he posted on X, “When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy.” He’s absolutely right – we are indeed trapped in a system where a mere 536 individuals dictate the lives of 342 million of us.
However, this is precisely where Elon, in my humble opinion, gets it wrong. He’s still playing the old game. His suggestion of focusing on just two or three Senate seats and eight to ten House districts reveals a kingmaker’s mentality, a desire to be the deciding vote, the power broker. He’s thinking like the billionaire who believes a select few should control everyone else’s destiny. This is the very problem I’ve been discussing for ages.
Elon built his empire on disruption. Tesla revolutionized the automotive industry, SpaceX transformed space travel. Yet, when it comes to politics, he’s falling back on the same old playbook. He aims to replace the occupants of those 536 seats of power, but he isn’t questioning why those 536 seats wield such disproportionate power in the first place.
Fortunately, many Americans are questioning this concentration of power. A Quantis Insights survey recently revealed that a staggering 42% of US voters would likely support the America Party’s candidates, with Republican men showing particular interest at 57%. What does this tell me? Americans are absolutely starving for an alternative to our current governmental structure. Both Republicans and Democrats are so fed up that nearly half would vote for a party that literally just launched last week.
But here’s a thought that should give every American pause: Tesla’s shareholders collectively lost $68 billion the day after Musk announced his party. Why? Because investors understand that when brilliant minds get entangled in the political game, they often lose focus on their core competencies.
Still, the very notion of disrupting politics could be the catalyst for something truly monumental. Last year, I published my book, outlining the governmental changes necessary to forge a truly perfect society. It’s heartening to see that Elon and a significant portion of the country are finally catching on.
Furthermore, here’s what nobody’s talking about, but should be: everyone is asking the wrong questions. “Will it hurt Republicans? Will it hurt Democrats? Can a third party even win?” These are all the wrong questions. The right questions are: What if we don’t need parties fighting each other? What if 342 million Americans are smarter than 536 politicians? What if we, the people, could just fix things ourselves?
Let me hit you with some mind-blowing numbers, as I do in my book.
- 342 million: Americans who live with the consequences of decisions.
- 536: People making those decisions (435 House + 100 Senate + 1 President).
- That means a minuscule 0.0000016% of us are making decisions for 100% of us. Is it any wonder we’re constantly at each other’s throats?
But here’s where it gets exciting. Whether Elon’s America Party soars or crashes and burns, it’s already serving a vital purpose: it’s waking people up to a truth I’ve been shouting from the rooftops – we don’t have to do things the way they’ve always been done. Think about it: kids are already changing the world without government intervention. Teenagers like Boyan Slat are cleaning our oceans. Volunteers run half our fire departments without federal oversight. Mr. Beast, at just 26, has helped more people than most government programs combined.
So why do we continue to beg 536 people to solve our problems?
If you’re a Democrat watching this, imagine finally achieving universal healthcare without Republican obstruction, genuinely saving the environment without endless congressional battles, or truly helping the poor without someone screaming “socialism.”
If you’re a Republican hearing this, imagine keeping your tax money from funding programs you oppose, supporting the military without Democrats slashing the budget, and running your business free from suffocating regulations.
And if you’re anyone who’s just plain tired of it all, imagine a world where we could all get what we want.
Here’s my challenge to Elon: Don’t just create another party. Create a movement. Create something that recognizes these four simple truths:
- We the people are more powerful than any politician.
- Voluntary cooperation beats forced compliance every time.
- Local solutions work better than federal mandates.
- Freedom plus responsibility equals everybody’s happy, everybody wins.
These aren’t just feel-good ideas; they are the four pillars of freedom I detail in my book. “But Curt, this sounds too good to be true!” I hear you. I really do. But consider this for a moment: Did you know that 65% of firefighters are volunteers? Kids under 18 have raised millions for various charities for decades. Regular people regularly solve problems that government simply can’t.
Elon’s “America” – the one where people take charge and make a difference – it’s already happening. We just need to do more of it. So, here’s what I want you to do right now:
- Share this article with someone who’s tired of politics as usual.
- Think of one problem in your community you could help solve.
- Ask yourself: What if we didn’t need to wait for politicians to fix things?
And if you truly want to dive deep into how we can make everybody happy and everybody win, read, watch, or listen to my book. Not because I need the sales – all formats of my book are currently free – but because these ideas are too important to keep to myself. Access the book HERE.
The bottom line is this: whether Elon’s America Party becomes the next big thing or the next big flop, it has opened a door. A door to asking, “What if there’s a better way?” And you know what? There is a better way. A way where Democrats get to be Democrats, Republicans get to be Republicans, libertarians get to be libertarians, and everybody gets to be happy.
This is not a dream. This is not wishful thinking. This is a choice we can make. So, thank you, Elon, for getting people talking. But more importantly, thank you, my freedom-loving friends, for watching this and being open to the idea that maybe, just maybe, we the people can do this better. Because when we the people take charge, everybody’s happy. Everybody wins.
